Owl

So ive decided to try to create a stuffed owl crochet pattern and this is how my first attempt turned out.
I don't think its THAT bad, but im not in love with it... Kinda reminds me of a Furby. Does anyone have any suggestions to make it look better?

Its been kinda hard crocheting lately, because of Meeko. I have to lock him in the bedroom if i want to crochet otherwise he will constantly attack my yarn. He's so naughty I gave him a middle name, It's Meeko Merlotte. Named after Sam Merlotte from HBO's True Blood. Im glad I have him. Meeko and Bella keep me entertained, and I love them :-)

Busy Busy Busy

I have been soo busy the last few months! I Had to take care of my Nana who had major back surgery in May. Then in June my boyfriend of almost 3 years decided to break up with me, so I've been pretty stressed about paying bills and such since I decided to keep the apartment that we lived in together. He moved in with a friend. Fortunately I finally found a friend to move in with me to help with rent.

Last week, I Adopted a kitten :-) He is so cute and spunky AND he gets along great with my dog Bella. I decided to name him Meeko after the Raccoon from the Disney movie Pocahontas. He's also helped me with my break-up, getting over him.

Ive also been pretty busy with crocheting projects too. Im currently working on a granny square afghan to use up all my scrap balls of yarn. I also have created a pattern for some cute carrot appliques and some cute catnip carrots and strawberries. I also found a cute whale and crab pattern I was thinking of making a bunch with catnip/squeakers and trying to sell them at work (a pet boarding facility) I save all the little bits of yarn from other projects and use them all stuffing for projects that need stuffing. As for the Zebra print scarf, its been put on hold for the time being.

Finished

Well it took a bit longer than I had anticipated, mostly because I kept running out of yarn, but I finished it.
Im really happy with the result. I also figured out what I could do with all the little bits of yarn I always insist of keeping, I used it as stuffing for the little kitty I made. Blanket ant kitty available here http://www.etsy.com/listing/97511547/flower-garden-baby-blanket-hand

Now on to the next project. A couple years ago I had attempted to make a giraffe print scarf, but it didn't turn out so nice so I ended up frogging it. So now I think im going to attempt a zebra print scarf. I just made up a chart and I think Ill end up starting it soon. Im just trying to decide if i want to use traditional colors (black and white) or not. I was thinking either pink and white or black and purple.

Adventure Time

Hello all!
I had a fun adventure yesterday. I went to visit a friend of mine who lives in the bay area, and who I haven't seen in a long time. Another friend picked me up on the way there and with the help of a Tom Tom, we got incredibly lost. Tom Tom was set to avoid freeways. When we finally got there, we went shopping at the great mall, I got to ride BART for the first time which was fun, and we went out clubbing at some club in San Francisco. Not sure of the name. It was my first time Clubbing and I enjoyed it. However I don't think I would be doing it again anytime soon. It was uncomfortable for me having strange guys trying to dance up against me all night.

Well in Crocheting news, I've been working on a new baby blanket. Im really liking it. I should be done within a week.

Farmers Markets

Hello all!
I have been thinking a lot lately about selling my crochet work at a local craft fair or farmers market. I am really unsure about how to go about doing it. I've actually never been to a farmers market before, not sure what kind of things people would like to buy, how much stuff I should make and bring, etc. Have you ever been to or sold anything at a farmers market or craft fair? any advise?

Hello Everybody!

Welcome to my new blog! This is my first time blogging and not quite sure how to start out... so i guess ill start by telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Alicia and I live in northern California, in the middle of wine country. I'm 22 and love to crochet, go to the movies and find interesting crafts to do. I have a little dog named Bella. She is a "teacup" Yorkie, almost 3 years old and only weighs 2 1/2lbs. She's a pain in the butt, but I love her.She likes to "help" me crochet and take pictures of my finished work.
Well, I gotta go but i'm going to try to post regularly. Hope to see you again!
